Rural Teacher Kickstart Program

Please complete this section if you would like to apply for the EOREN Rural Teacher Kickstart  Scholarship. Scholarship shall be up to, but not exceeding $15,000 per successful applicant. Award amounts may vary depending on funding.

In order to be eligible for the incentive applicants must:

• Be enrolled full-time in a degree-granting program

• Those who agree to work in one of the 40 EOREN districts for at least two years following graduation 

• Be enrolled as an undergraduate with a major in education / related field

• Be of junior or senior standing as of Fall 2026

Preference will be given to those who:

• Are a resident of Huntington, OR or Grant, Harney, Lake, Malheur, or Wallowa counties

• Will graduate prior to June 30, 2028

• Are pursuing an identified high need area for the region (Dual Language, Secondary Level Teachers, etc.)

Applications for the Rural Teacher Kickstart Scholarship will be reviewed and awarded according to the following timeline:

• Round 1 Application is now closed.

• Round 2 Application is now closed.

• Round 3 Application is now closed.

EOREN Rural Teacher Kickstart Applicants - please submit a letter of recommendation from a professor or employee of a school district who can speak to your personal   character and your professional capacity to become a high quality educator.

All applicants must agree to work in an EOREN district for a minimum of 2 years following program completion.
