Rural Teacher Kickstart Program

Please complete this section if you would like to apply for the EOREN Rural Teacher Kickstart  Scholarship. Scholarship shall be up to, but not exceeding $20,000 per successful applicant. 

In order to be eligible for the incentive applicants must:

• Be enrolled full-time in a degree-granting program

• Those who agree to work in one of the 40 EOREN districts for at least two years following graduation 

• Be enrolled as an undergraduate with a major in Education

• Be of junior or senior standing as of December 31, 2024

Preference will be given to those who:

• Are a resident of Huntington, OR or Grant, Harney, Lake, Malheur, or Wallowa counties

• Will graduate prior to June 30, 2025

• Secondary Level Teachers

Applications for the Rural Teacher Kickstart Scholarship will be reviewed and awarded according to the following timeline:

• Round 1 Application is now closed.

• Round 2 Applications must be submitted no later than December 31, 2024.  Applicants will be notified by February 2025.

EOREN Rural Teacher Kickstart Applicants - please submit a letter of recommendation from a professor or employee of a school district who can speak to your personal   character and your professional capacity to become a high quality educator.
