MAT Secondary Scholarship Program
Please complete this section if you would like to apply for the EOREN MAT Secondary Scholarship. Scholarships shall not exceed $15,000 per successful applicant.
In order to be eligible for this scholarship applicants must:
Be enrolled full-time in an accredited MAT program
Agree to work in one of the 40 EOREN districts as an educator in English, Math, Music, Social Studies, Science, or World Languages for at least two years following graduation from the MAT program.
Preference will be given to those who:
Must be a resident of Huntington, OR; or Grant, Harney, Lake, Malheur, or Wallowa counties
Are currently working in one of the 40 EOREN Districts.
Are planning to teach at the secondary level in English, Math, Music, Social Studies, Science, or World Languages
Are secondary, SPED, and linguistically diverse candidates as this will have a direct impact on equitable access of eastern Oregon students to educational services and opportunities (STEM courses, in-person secondary courses, qualified SPED services, etc.).
Are supported by their employer-district in their path of continuing education as evidenced by a letter of recommendation from the applicant's current district.
Applications for the MAT Scholarship will be reviewed and awarded according to the following timeline:
Applications must be submitted no later than December 31, 2024. Applicants will be notified by February.
EOREN MAT Scholarship Applicants - please submit a letter of recommendation from your current district administrator. If you do not currently work for a school district, please submit a letter of recommendation from a professor or employee of a school district who can speak to your personal character and your professional capacity to become a high quality educator.
