Book Study: First Days of School

Join a fellow group of teachers in bringing the First Days of School to life in your classroom.

This virtual book study is open to all teachers, but geared specifically for novice educators in their first to third years, looking to improve their own routines and practices to help students succeed. Each participant will receive a free copy of Harry & Rosemary Wong's book, The First Days of School: How to be an Effective Teacher. One graduate level credit is available for those that attend all 4 sessions. Please register no later than July 12, 2021 to ensure the arrival of your book prior to the first session.

Session 1 (7/19): Traits of an Effective Teacher

Session 2 (7/26): Positive Expectations

Session 3 (8/2): Classroom Management

Session 4 (8/9): Lesson Mastery. For novice educators participating in the Eastern Oregon Regional Orientation, this session will be held in person in Burns, OR - contact Jennifer Martin for more info..
